A crazy day! Thanks to everyone who came by today.
We debuted 3 new yarns. Cascade Cloud is a merino/baby alpaca blend spun in a chainette style. It is light-weight, but knits up like a heavy worsted or aran. We currently have 5 strong, earthy colors. Ultra Alpaca Fine, a member of the well-loved Berroco family, bring alpaca to sock (and fine garment) knitting. We have an assortment of slightly heathered, saturated jewel tone, solid colors. We have a few Garden Sock Party Cakes from local dye-artist, Art-by-Ana. These 120 g. skeins are gradient-dyed, and 1 skein is enough to knit a generous shawl. We will add to the colour selection as soon as she gets more yarn into the dye pot. We, also, restocked (finally) our favorite sport sock, Pediboo, from the good people at Frog Tree Yarns.
Perhaps the most dramatic unveiling today was of our new teas from The Republic of Tea. We are very pleased to be their newest Embassy of Tea. So far, we have 5 flavors of black, green, and herbal tea bags; canisters of Get Well red tea (herbal), and assortment boxes of popular single-wrapped tea bags. The perfect sweet to accompany a cup of tea is a Hugo & Nate French caramel--hand made from natural, delicious ingredients. Soft, creamy, and decadent. We sampled all day like crazy. My personal favorites? Well, for now, Ginger Peach black tea and the chocolate caramel. Tomorrow, I’ll try the passion fruit caramel with the Earl Grey black tea.
More on our fun activities and big adventures in the next post. Come see us tomorrow (Sunday) for tea and caramels, beautiful yarns, and a knitter/crocheter’s massage lesson from RMT Cora Sproule at 1:00! You deserve it.
