I'm currently working on the Brandywine shawl, by Romi Hill, using Silk Garden sock. I forget the colorway number, but it is a beautiful green and violet and pink. Sabrina is knitting the same pattern using Halo, dyed by Minesville Wool Project, in a delicate yellow colorway. Anyway, the pattern is both written and charted, and I am using the chart. This project has reminded me of how much I like to use Knit Companion. Knit Companion is an app available for iPhone, iPad, and other platforms (I think). It has a lot of features, but when working with charts it has a tool that highlights the chart row you are working on and incrementing with just a tap. It is so much easier for me to read the chart on the screen--I must admit my vision has become more annoying with each passing year. I don't know if my declining eyesight or my grinding knees bother me most...but I digress. I'm having fun with the Brandywine pattern. It is straightforward and easiy to follow. It is a purchase pattern from Ravelry and $5 from the purchase price of each pattern goes to Doctors without Borders. Romi has a goal of selling 10,000 copies, and she has forwarded over $20,000 to the charity so far. Way to go!
