Coldest Night

Make a donation to Coldest Night of the Year and we'll say "Thank you" with 10% or 15% off your entire purchase in the shop this weekend and a chance to win a 30 g skein of Wollmeise yarn!  Bring your donation receipt (paper or electronic) or you can donate directly in the shop (I'm sorry, no tax receipts available for in-store donations).  Make a minimum $20 donation, and we will thank you with a 10% discount. Make a minimum $50 donation, and we will thank you with a 15% discount.  Any level of donation earns you an entry into a drawing for one of 5 30g skeins of Wollmeise sock-weight yarn. See the not-so-fine-print below for details.

The Coldest Night of the Year is an annual fund-raising and awareness-raising event to support the hungry, homeless and hurting in 80+ communities across Canada.  Volunteers will be walking 2k, 5k, or 10k on the evening of February 21st, so we only have one more day to help them reach their donation goal.  You can go to the website at ColdestNightOfTheYear.org to find a walker or team to support with a generous donation. (Dartmouth Yarns is supporting Mark Downie.  He and Amy give many hours of work, year-round, at Out of the Cold shelter in Halifax.)  You can search by individual name or by location (the local walk is in Halifax).

Fine print:  Donate to a Coldest Night of the Year walker or team (or to another registered, not-for-profit shelter).  Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 22, bring your donation receipt (electronic or printed) to receive a 10% discount for a minimum $20 donation or a 15% discount for a minimum $50 donation.  The discounts cannot be applied toward classes or special orders.  Only one discount per customer, please.  The drawing will be held at 3:30, Sunday, Feb. 22.Five winners will be drawn, each receiving one skein of Wollmeise.
