Looking for a fun knit-along project? Join the Fiber Factor's season one contestant, Rachel Henry, as she walks you through knitting her Evolution Shawl. This beautiful shawl, follows the "evolution" of a knitter's journey into the world of knitting. "It begins with garter stitch, representing the garter stitch scarf that so many of us began with. Then, a bit of stockinette appears. Once the basic stitches are mastered, textured patterns like the diamond pattern become possible. Eventually, the knitter graduates on to cables, simple lace, and twisted stitches, with each pattern building upon the last." This is a six week knit-along with weekly videos showing Rachel working the shawl and providing lots of tips along the way. This pattern is planned for sport-weight yarn--Pediboo sock, Nuna, Violena, Cascade 220 superwash sport, Ultra Alpaca dk. While the shawl is planned for a single color, I've been inspired by some other shawl patterns that use two colors to highlight the bands of different stitch patterns in this shawl. So many choices!
