Crochet 102: Next Steps
From Calendar: Classes
Location: Dartmouth Yarns, 122 Portland St.
Cost: $20 (bring your own yarn and needles)
From: November 14, 2017 at 5:30pm
Time to add some pizzazz to your crochet. This class will introduce you to simple increasing and decreasing, crocheting motifs (yep, that's like granny squares), changing colors, and joining motifs. We'll also practice working from a charted crochet pattern and, as a bonus, learn a better way to start pieces that are worked in rows--foundation crochet stitches. Lot's of fun skills to super-charge your crochet.
Required skill level: You should be comfortable with crochet basics, including chaining, single and double crochet, slip stitch, and working even in rows. If you need a refresher, consider taking Crochet 101.
Materials: At least 3 colours of worsted-weight, aran, or bulky-weight, wool yarn (fairly smooth yarn in light-to-medium colours is easiest to use when learning, Cascade 220 is perfect); crochet hook to match your yarn (check the ball band for a suggested size or ask in the shop for assistance in choosing the right hook size)
Maximum: 5 students
